Donegal Fergus, Minnesota Twins Minor League Hitting Coordinator
In 2020 Donegal Fergus begins his first season with the Twins, and his first in a coaching role with a major league club. He spent the last 19 seasons as a college coach, including an associated head coach role in 2019 at UC Santa Barbara. In 2019, the UCSB Gauchos led the Big West Conference with a .296 batting average and .878 OPS, while setting school records with 45 wins against DI opponents, 13 All-Conference performers, and five selections in the first eight rounds of the First-Year Player Draft. Fergus spent the 2014-18 seasons as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Washington. He previously served as head coach at Lower Columbia College (Longview, WA), assistant at Seattle University (2011-12), head coach at Tacoma (WA) Community College (2006-10), and assistant at Lower Columbia (2001-05). Fergus played collegiately at Linfield College in McMinnville, OR, where he graduated in 2000.



Nate Rasmussen, Fort Myers Mighty Mussels (Twins Advanced-A Affiliate) Hitting Coach
Nate Rasmussen begins his second season with the Twins in 2020 after serving as hitting coach for the GCL Twins in 2019. Rasmussen spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as hitting and outfield coach, along with recruiting coordinator, at the University of Northern Colorado. Under his guidance, the 2018 Bears ranked in the top-50 nationally in almost every offensive category, including BABIP (.388), runs per game (7.06), OBP (.392), batting average (.295) and doubles per game (2.02). Rasmussen spent the 2013-2016 seasons as as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. As a player, he was a three-time All-Conference selection at Pacific
